LA BOVERIE, a fine arts museum and a centre for international exhibitions

It plays host to the Liège Fine Arts museum and a brand new area for organization of temporary exhibitions of various kinds and which represent a new experience for the visitor on each visit.

The Fine Arts permanent collections, a showcase for the gems of Liège

One storey of the building will host the City of Liège Fine Arts collections. Lambert Lombard, Gerard De Lairesse, Ingres, Gauguin, Chagall, Picasso, Evenepoel, Delvaux, Magritte, and others will attest to the modernity of the art in all eras, from the Renaissance to our own day. The exhibition route is accessible to all and boasts an interactive guide in four languages.

Major temporary exhibitions with multiple dimensions

The upper level hosts major temporary exhibitions over floor-space of approximately 2,800 m². These exhibitions are either organised directly by the City of Liège, or curated in partnership with the Louvre, or, sometimes, entrusted to other operators.

There is, in fact, a rich all year round programme of exhibitions on art or civilisations in which all art forms are incorporated in order to totally immerse the visitor in the chosen theme.
