Liège accessible to all

Its prestigious past, remarkable situation, lively culture and warm welcome attract many visitors to Liège, a human-scale city that can be easily accessed at the heart of a European communication network.

In order to adapt the discovery of the city to mobility impaired people (MIP), Liège Tourism has joined forces with Access-i, who are in charge of analysing the accessibility of tourist and cultural sites for visitors with specific needs.

The precise information concerning each site (strengths, weaknesses, technical data, etc.) is featured in our document “Liège accessible to all”, which is available for consultation and downloaded below.

You can also view the web site of Access-i. The data featured concerns the categories of mobility reduced people who are in wheelchairs, have difficult walking, are blind or visually impaired, are deaf or hard of hearing or have comprehension difficulties.

Two emblematic buildings in Liège are listed thanks to their good level of accessibility: the Boverie museum and the Halle aux Viandes meat market, which today plays host to the tourist information office. Here, you will find a form detailing the services proposed and the degree of accessibility in the buildings.

N.B.: other buildings, museums, churches, hotels and restaurants possess older labels but have not yet received Access-I certification. If you need further information, please contact us.
Liège Tourism also proposes guided tours intended for groups including mobility impaired people. Click on the link to access the brochure: guided tours for groups of people with specific needs.
