HST Connect

The Interreg IIIB North West Europe "HST Connect" (High Speed Trains) project lasted for 5 years. It benefited from FEDER subsidies amounting to approximately 23,000.000 euros. The aim of the partners from 5 countries (Great Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany) was to promote the use of rail networks whilst improving connectivity between the "primary" network used by high-speed trains and the "secondary" network of regular rail links.

Within this framework, a regular and comfortable link between Maastricht–Liège and Brussels was put in place.
