Projet Interreg V B North West Europe "Accelerating Condominium Energy Retrofitting"

The “ACE retrofitting” project (2016 – 2020) is a European project financed as part of the Interreg V B North West Europe programme.

The project’s total budget amounts to 4,204,691.26 euros (of which 60% is subsidised by FEDER).

The 9 project partners are:

  • Energy Cities (lead partner)
  • The City of Maastricht (Netherlands)
  • The University of Maastricht (Netherlands)
  • The City of Aberdeen (Great Britain)
  • Changeworks resources for Life (Great Britain)
  • Energiebesparingsfonds Antwerp (Belgium)
  • The City of Liège
  • The City of Frankfurt (Germany)
  • The Paris Climate Agency (France)

Within the scope of this project, the City of Liège worked alongside Liège Energy, the CAP 2020 Cluster, the Ecoconstruction Cluster and the Belgian National Syndicate of Property Owners and Co-owners.

The operators were funded to the tune of 60% by the Interreg programme. The “City of Liège” part totalled 612,537.20 euros.

Thanks to the experience obtained on previous Interreg programmes, the City of Liège is able to provide administrative support as well as linguistic aid.

The project aims to make existing buildings less energy-consuming through renovation. By targeting co-owners, a large number of private owners should be able to make financial savings through reduction of CO2 emissions.

The project was approved in mid-September 2016.
